I’m running for re-election to Lakewood City Council to bring your voice to the table.
My experience as a field engineer, entrepreneur, mother and councilwoman has taught me that: inside each of us is a unique and important voice, and the courage to stand up for what is right. When all of our voices, including family, friends, the communities we care about, are heard, we can create a system that works for us.
When we face our challenges with an open mind, courage, and facts, anything is possible.
Three years ago my motivations were clear: as a mother with two young kids, I couldn’t shake my growing concern about our collective future and decided to jump into the arena, run for city council, and give being a part of the solution everything I've got.
Together, we won, and I became the youngest woman elected on the body, and the only member on council with kids under 18. During the past three years, we’ve accomplished so much together, working on everything from protecting new acres of open space and our public health and safety, to combating climate change and preventing workplace harassment, to standing up for our Jefferson County Public Schools and an inclusive community. With persistence, we passed policies together, made progress and impacted lives for generations to come.
We’ve still got work to do. We need to protect our Colorado way of life during this time of growth, find innovative ways to address the lack of attainable housing, combat climate change, and ensure that everyone feels safe and has opportunities to succeed in our diverse Lakewood community.
With three generations of family living in Lakewood, whatever challenges come our way affect me and my family too. That's why you can count on me to make decisions that impact you and your family the same way I'd make decisions my own. We're all in this together.
With my whole heart, thank you for being with me on this journey.
